Auckland Mobile Sedation Ltd is an Auckland-wide service providing intravenous patient sedation by a Specialist Anaesthetist.
All medication and monitoring equipment required by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) for the safe sedation of patients is provided.
Conscious intravenous sedation provides an alternative to general anaesthesia for minor ‘in-rooms’ procedures. It can effectively reduce the pain and stress associated with procedures conducted in dentists’ or doctors’ rooms. The depth of sedation can be “lightened” or “deepened” depending on the requirements of the patient, procedure or health care professional.
Advantages to patients include shorter recovery times and reduced cost when compared with general anaesthesia.
Advantages to doctors and dentists are that procedures can be carried out in their own rooms and may be performed more efficiently.
